If you are using an online platform such as JustGiving or Facebook the money raised will come to us automatically.

Online fundraising pages are a fantastic way to tell your story, share updates, and keep track of the money you have raised. There are a few different platforms you can use, including JustGiving and Facebook.

Absolutely! We have both collection tins and buckets available.
If you would like to order a collection can or bucket, please complete the request form. Please note, we are only able to offer a maximum of five collection cans and two buckets and you must be registered with us in order to receive these.
Before holding a collection, you may want to read up on these guidelines (PDF file | 105 KB) to make sure everything is above board.
It is likely that your materials may take around 10 days to reach you. If you need your materials sooner, please get in touch with the fundraising team by emailing fundraising@RetinaUK.org.uk and we will do our best to get the materials to you sooner
You might find you don’t want your top after all or maybe it doesn’t quite fit. If that’s the case you can return it to us or exchange it for a different size.

Gift Aid is an arrangement that allows charities to reclaim tax on a donation made by a UK taxpayer, which means your donations will be worth 25% more at no extra cost to you!
Whether you pay online, by phone or post please make sure that you send all your filled-out sponsorship forms to Retina UK. If we don’t receive your forms, Retina UK won’t be able to claim Gift Aid.
Online fundraising pages such as Just Giving collect Gift Aid for us automatically.
Under UK law, certain donations are not eligible for Gift Aid. If your donation falls into any of the following categories, Gift Aid shouldn’t be claimed:
- Donations made by anyone who is not a UK taxpayer.*
- Donations made on behalf of someone else or a group of people – for example, you collect money from your friends and family and then made a bulk donation. Even if they are UK taxpayers, the donation is not eligible. HMRC needs a Gift Aid declaration from each of the donors contributing to the collection.
- Donations made in return for something. For example, you are making a donation in return for a ticket to attend an event, most purchases of goods at an auction, a cake sale donation, or buying a raffle ticket.
- Donations made on behalf of a company (however, the company can claim tax relief on the donation when donating directly to the charity).
*NOTE if you are either not a UK taxpayer, or if you pay less income tax and/or Capital Gains Tax in the current tax year than the amount claimed on all your donations, HMRC may require you to pay the difference, minimising risk.

Unfortunately, as we are a very small team and do get asked to lots of events, it isn’t usually possible for us to attend these, as much as we would love to. If this is something that is really important to you for your fundraising, then we would suggest getting in touch with the Retina UK team on 01280 815900 or by emailing fundraising@RetinaUK.org.uk.
For the TCS Money London Marathon, we hold a post-race reception. You can find out more about running this event for Retina UK.
We love to share your fundraising stories and to celebrate the success you’ve had. We can typically share a short piece of text about the fundraising you’ve taken on or have coming up and why you’ve decided to support Retina UK. We find that these stories can encourage other people to take on their own fundraising and so really help to support Retina UK even further. It is unlikely that these posts would lead to extra donations to your fundraising and we have to be mindful of how often we ask our social media followers to donate, and so we may not always be able to include your fundraising page link as part of the post.
If you’re interested in sharing your story, let our team know when they’re in touch about your fundraising. Don’t forget to take a photo or ask a family member or friend to take one for you whilst you’re fundraising so that we can include this alongside.
