Sam joins Retina UK, bringing a blend of scientific expertise, strategic leadership, and communication experience gained from over a decade working at Cancer Research UK.

Colin was born in Dumfries and now lives near Glasgow. He is living with Usher syndrome, a dual sensory loss condition affecting his eyes and his hearing. He and his wife, Lyn, both have guide dogs: Jumble and Yozi.

This is the final edition of Look Forward this year and what a year it has been! Since the publication of this newsletter our founder and honorary president Lynda Cantor MBE has passed away. We are all deeply saddened by this news.

In August 2025, 8-year-old Rose Earnshaw is taking on a challenge like no other – completing 5 laps of her local village park (1 mile) every day throughout the month of August, in support of Retina UK’s vital work.
