February is Retinitis Pigmentosa Awareness Month and we'd love you to get involved to enhance the work of Retina UK, as we continue to support those who are living with retinitis pigmentosa and other inherited sight loss conditions.

For almost 50 years, Retina UK has funded the best science, searching for genes and treatments for everyone living with inherited retinal dystrophies (IRDs). Support the search for treatments for everyone and join our campaign to build the ultimate Gene Team of tomorrow.

We provide funding for innovative, high quality research projects investigating the causes and potential treatments for all forms of inherited retinal disease.

Researchers who received funding from Retina UK have carried out experimental gene therapy that is reported to have led to ‘life changing improvements’ to sight for four children with inherited sight loss.

Early results from clinical testing of a gene therapy to treat X-linked retinitis pigmentosa (XLRP) have shown partial reversal of sight loss in some patients.
