50th Anniversary Appeal

For 50 years, Retina UK has been at the forefront of funding the best science, searching for genes and treatments for everyone living with inherited retinal dystrophies (IRDs). Join us and support the search for treatments for everyone, for a brighter tomorrow.

Donate today!

In our 50th anniversary year, we’re asking you to join forces with Retina UK so that together, we can foster hope for a happier tomorrow for the thousands of people across the UK who are living with inherited sight loss.

Your generous donations will go directly towards supporting our ground-breaking research projects.

By donating today, you will be funding our exceptional scientists who are leading important translational medical research. At Retina UK, we are supporting innovative research projects in areas such as gene therapy and photoreceptor stem cell patches, at institutions like UCL, Kings, Edinburgh University and Newcastle University – because of you.

With your support during our anniversary year, we can continue to give real momentum to this important research. Since Retina UK was formed almost 50 years ago, we have invested £17.5 million into research projects and achieved so much together. We still need your help to leap forward with more cutting-edge research and continue to give hope to the whole inherited sight loss community.

If you’d prefer to donate via another payment method, including cheque, text, direct debit, or would like to find out more about the difference your generous donation will make, please get in touch on fundraising@RetinaUK.org.uk or 01280 815900.

Thank you for your incredible continued support.

“Researchers like myself quite simply wouldn’t be able to carry out many of our exciting projects without the funding we receive from Retina UK and we are hugely grateful to the charity’s supporters who make our research possible.”
Professor Mariya Moosajee, a previous grantee.
"I was diagnosed with Retinitis Pigmentosa 24 years ago, just after the birth of my daughter. Retina UK uniquely recognises the importance of research. Your support will greatly help to contribute towards medical advancements that have the potential to transform lives."
Angie Baum, a community member.
