This Local Peer Support Group provides a welcoming, safe and friendly opportunity for people with inherited sight loss to meet up to share experiences, tips and information.

We are pleased to invite you to join facilitator Perm Bhachu and the West Midlands group for an exclusive ground floor tour and handling session at the Birmingham Back to Backs.

This National Trust site gives an atmospheric glimpse into the lives of the ordinary people who helped make Birmingham an extraordinary city. On a fascinating guided tour you will step back in time at Birmingham’s last surviving court of back to backs; houses built literally back-to-back around a communal courtyard. Moving from the 1840’s through to the 1970’s, discover the lives of some of the former residents who crammed into these small houses to live and work. With fires alight in the grates, and sounds and smells from the past, experience an evocative and intimate insight into life at the Back to Backs.

Following on from this fantastic guided tour, you are more than welcome to join Perm and the group for a tasty lunch and social catch up at The Sly Old Fox. This historic Victorian pub situated opposite to the Back to Backs and the famous Hippodrome in Hurst Street has been host to many celebrities and characters over the years making this one of Birmingham’s legendary hangouts with past customers being Charlie Chaplin and Laurel & Hardy!
