Welcome to the 'Talking' Tech Peer Support Group where we invite you to come and share your experiences, tips and hints around all things Tech at our bi-monthly meetings.

We are pleased to invite you to join us for our latest 'Talking' Tech meeting where we are delighted to welcome our guest speaker Darren Tan from Zappar.

Zappar is a pioneering UK-based technology company with a simple mission: to elevate the human experience through more immersive, interactive, and accessible solutions. Zappar’s unique combination of AR, VR and WebXR software, hardware, and creative services alongside assistive technologies makes it easier for brands, businesses and end-users alike to create and scale immersive content to enhance the human experience.

Zapvision, Zappar’s assistive technology helps people who are blind or have low vision solve everyday challenges like accessing information on product packaging with a single Accessible QR code.

The World Health Organization estimates that 2.2 billion people have near or distance vision impairment. According to WHO, there are 284m people have low vision with 39 million registered blind globally, making finding relevant product information in store and at home a significant and everyday challenge. Zapvision has been designed to enhance the accessibility of product packaging for everyone, providing total independence when purchasing and searching for products, whatever your visual acuity.

Prior to losing the last of his useful vision to Retinitis Pigmentosa in 2024, Darren spent 20 years within Digital Marketing Product and eCommerce.

We hope you can join us to hear from Darren and about the fantastic work Zappar are doing for the V.I community and ask any questions you may have.

We look forward to seeing you there!
