Local Peer Support Group

Scotland Regional Peer Support Group

  • Date and Time info: 5/02/2026 from 19:00:00 to 20:00:00
  • Location: Via Zoom
  • Online

This regional Peer Support Group provides a welcoming, safe and friendly opportunity for people with inherited sight loss to meet up to share experiences, tips and information.

We are pleased to invite you to join us for a special region-wide Scotland Peer Support Group where we are delighted to introduce our new Glasgow Local Group facilitator Sarah Speed.

Sarah who is originally from South Africa is now living in Fife, Scotland. She got involved with the Retina UK Young Adults Peer Support Group after her diagnosis of RP in 2021. Now Sarah has moved to Fife she is going to be facilitating the Glasgow Local Peer Support Group and support Retina UK with Scotland-based events. A fun fact about Sarah is that she is trying to visit 30 countries by the time she turns 30.

We will also be joined by Retina UK Ambassador Colin Hetherington who is assisting us with growing the awareness of our charity across Scotland through our peer support groups and external events.

Please come and join us for this online Scotland regional meeting where we welcome and encourage you to have your say in how we move forward with growing our current peer support groups in Glasgow & Edinburgh, as well as helping to identify where we can potentially create new peer support groups across Scotland.

Plus, we also invite you to meet the Retina UK team, professionals and others living with inherited sight loss in person at Sight Village Glasgow on Tuesday, 17 March. Pop this date in your diary – more information to follow!

We hope you can make it and look forward to seeing you there!
