This National Peer Support Group provides a welcoming, safe and friendly opportunity for people with inherited sight loss from all over the UK to meet up to share experiences, tips and information. Meetings are held quarterly - Spring, Summer, Autumn & Winter and cover a range of different topics and guest speakers.

As we prepare for the upcoming Winter months we are pleased to invite you to join us for our National Peer Support Group Autumn meeting where we are delighted to welcome our guest speaker, Stuart Colville from The Wise Group's Energy Advice Service.

The Wise Group’s HEAT (Home Energy Advice Team) service offers dedicated Relational Mentoring support to households throughout the UK to manage their household energy bills.

Their mission is to lift people out of fuel poverty and support those most vulnerable, especially during the colder months when energy costs can hit hardest. They deliver free, confidential, 1-to-1 support for individuals and families who are struggling with their energy use and bills.

Their service includes:

  • Tailored energy-saving advice and support
  • Help understanding bills, tariffs, and taking meter readings
  • Liaising with suppliers on behalf of customers
  • Meter exchange guidance
  • Income maximisation and help with energy-related debt
  • Access to grants, emergency fuel vouchers, and wider services
  • Applications for Warm Home Discount, Priority Services Register, and more
  • Carbon monoxide awareness and safety

So please come along to hear from Stuart and ask any questions you may have about the services they can offer and how they could support you with managing your home energy costs effectively.

We hope you can join us and look forward to seeing you there!
