Manchester local peer support group
This Local Peer Support Group provides a welcoming, safe and friendly opportunity for people to meet up to share experiences, tips and information.
We are pleased to invite you to join group facilitator Rachael Foley for our latest online Manchester peer support group meeting where we are delighted to welcome our guest speaker Graham Page, Technology Officer in the employment team at Thomas Pocklington Trust.
In his role Graham provides advice and training primarily to people interested in employment or volunteering. He has also provided more general access technology and training advice in previous roles and has also been an Access to Work assessor and trainer.
Please come along to hear from Graham where he can provide an overview of the access technology available on phones, tablets and computers as well as discussing video magnifiers or the accessibility features available on many smart screen televisions. He can also discuss ways of accessing reading material such as books using the kindle app and Audible or freely available options such as the Talking Book service from RNIB as well as smart speakers, their use in the home and the things they can be used for.
Graham is happy to assist with any questions around ways of keeping notes and setting up calendar appointments and reminders along with discussing apps and devices for help with travelling and navigating more independently.
