Manchester Local Peer Support Group
This Local Peer Support Group provides a welcoming, safe and friendly opportunity for people with inherited sight loss to meet up to share experiences, tips and information.
We are pleased to invite you to join facilitator Rachael Zimbler and the Manchester Peer Support Group for their latest in-person get together at The Waldorf pub where we are delighted to welcome two representatives from the RNIB’s ECLO service, Katy Whitwell, the Eye Care Liaison Officer for East Lancashire and Lisa Howell, Eye Care Liaison Officer for Bolton who will inform the group of the role of the ECLO and the support that the service can offer.
ECLO’s play a vital role in the Eye Care Support Pathway and are available in many eye clinics to offer support, information and guidance to patients no matter where they are on their sight loss journey.
Lisa and Katy will be happy to answer any questions about the service and will also be able to make referrals for further support following this meeting.
After Katy and Lisa’s presentation we can then go in to our social catch up where we can discuss and plan some of our in-person get togethers and future meetings for the rest of the year.
We welcome and encourage you to come and have your say in how we move forward with this peer support group and how we can best support our community in Manchester area living with inherited sight loss.
So please come along and share any ideas you have for venues and events you may like to visit or if you would just like a chat, advice or simply need a listening ear, we are here to support you.
Whether you are a returning member or new to the group, everyone living with progressive sight loss is welcome!
We hope you can make it and look forward to seeing you there.
