This Local Peer Support Group provides a welcoming, safe and friendly opportunity for people with inherited sight loss to meet up to share experiences, tips and information.
You’re invited to come and celebrate 50 Years of Peer Support in London & the Southeast. Please join facilitator Bhavini Makwana and the group at the Elephant & Barrel in Stockwell for a special celebration looking back on 50 years of peer support, tracing our journey from the founding of the British Retinitis Pigmentosa Society to Retina UK today!
Whether you’ve been with us since the early days or are completely new to the community, this event is a wonderful chance to catch up with old friends, meet new ones, and connect across generations of our community.
The Elephant and Barrel in Stockwell is an Anglo-Indian fusion pub, created following a £495,000 transformation of the former Royal Oak site by Star Pubs and leaseholders including BBC’s The Apprentice star Priyesh Bathia. Combining traditional British pub culture with Indian hospitality, it offers an energetic, family-and dog-friendly venue with extensive indoor and outdoor space. Their signature decor features a life-sized animatronic elephant handmade in Kerala (nicknamed “Stocky”) in the front garden. The pub is a 3 minute walk from Stockwell tube station, which is also just a 15 minute journey via the Northern line from London Bridge.

Ticket Price
Ticket price is £20 per person and will include a buffet of Chips, Chilli chips, Mexican bhel, Onion bhaji and Jerk chicken and soft drinks of Orange juice, Apple juice, Coke/Pepsi as well as one entry into the raffle (with the opportunity to purchase more on the day). Details of how to make your payment will be included in the auto response email once you have registered.
