This Local Peer Support Group provides a welcoming, safe and friendly opportunity for people with inherited sight loss to meet up to share experiences, tips and information.

We are pleased to invite you to join group facilitator Bhavini Makwana and the London & South East group for our first in-person get together of 2025 where we will be visiting the O2 arena for lunch at Las Iguanas followed by a ride on the IFS Cloud Cable Car across the Thames.

With an abundance of fresh, delicious Mexican and South American food on the menu alongside a wide range of drinks and coolers, Las Iguanas is the perfect place to meet up with friends. Please note that on event days they switch to their Event Menu to make sure that as many visitors as possible can enjoy a meal during the day. Discounts, other menus & offers may not be available on event days.

Following a delicious meal and a catch up with friends and for those who would like to stay on with the group we will then enjoy a ride on the IFS Cloud Cable Car.

The first urban cable car in all of the United Kingdom, the IFS Cloud Cable Car links The Royal Docks and the Greenwich Peninsula. The Cable Car takes you all the way up to 90 metres high in the air, from where you can soak in some of the most panoramic views of the landmarks of the city, from the Olympic Park and Thames Barrier to the St. Paul’s Cathedral and more.

The 1.1 kilometer journey lasts for around 10 minutes with the cable car cabins arriving at intervals of 30 seconds. This part of the group meet up is completely optional and up to the individual if they wish to pay for a single or return fare depending on their onward journey.

General Adult rates are £6 for a single journey or £12 for a round trip. Concession fares are available for guests with a Freedom Pass or 60+ London Oyster photocard. Tickets must be bought at the ticket office to receive the concession fare. Carers travel free with a paying adult or child and will need to show one of these to travel free, a diagnostic assessment, Blue Badge, DWP letter, Carers Card, Access Card or other recognised evidence of a disability from a registered health or medical agency. Tickets must be bought at the ticket office to receive the concession fare.

Please meet up with Bhavini and the group at North Greenwich tube station, just past the barriers inside the station at 12.30pm, if you are unable to locate Bhavini or need assistance please ensure you call her straight away on the number provided in the auto response email you will receive upon registration. Once we have all met up we will then walk down to the restaurant together. Alternatively, if you would find it easier to meet at the restaurant please ensure you let Bhavini know in advance on the same number.
