Retina UK have joined together with Henshaws; Royal Society for Blind Children; St Vincents School for the Blind and Victa to hold a Family Day in Liverpool.
This will be our second event and we hope to make this year even bigger and better! There will be information for parents around education; supporting independence; employability; parent and carers support and technology. This is a great opportunity to hear from and speak with the professionals as well as a chance to meet with other families.
There will be a range of fun activities for children and young people to enjoy. The day is FREE to attend and lunch will be provided. Download a copy of the agenda.
Charlotte Mellor has worked with VICTA since 2013, firstly as the founder of www.throughscarlettseyes.com, where she shared her parenting experiences and journey raising her visually impaired daughter Scarlett. Charlotte now works within parents services for the charity managing the VICTA Parent Portal and the VICTA Parent Network. Both services are dedicated to assisting parents and families who are raising visually impaired children. Charlotte will be sharing her experiences as a parent and a working within the sector and examining how as parent’s we can support and promote independence in children.
