Virgin Money London Marathon

Posted on: Tuesday 24 April 2018

The 2018 London Marathon was the 38th London Marathon race and it took place on Sunday, 22 April 2018, in London, England. RP Fighting Blindness was delighted to be part of the event and we had 19 fantastic runners, raising over £30,000 for the charity so far!

We enjoyed record breaking weather on the day, with temperatures reaching 23 degrees Celsius and, as usual, we provided a runners’ reception for our participants and their families. Food, drink and refreshments were available, and showers and massages were provided. We had a great turn out from supporters cheering on our runners and the atmosphere on the day was brilliant.

We’d like to say a sincere thank you to all this year’s runners – the Virgin Money London Marathon is an important fundraiser for us, and a high profile event for the charity.

A big thank you also needs to go to Sally from Rodrigues Relaxation for volunteering her massage services on the day. The runners really appreciated them and said it really made a difference! We greatly appreciated her giving up her time to support them.
