Speaking with confidence for people with sight loss & sighted guiding training for carers workshop
Posted on: Friday 27 October 2017
As the fun festivities are approaching come and enjoy a double workshop, not just for those with a vision impairment but also for supportive carers.
A vision impairment can lead to social exclusion and feelings of isolation which in turn can decrease your confidence and lower your self-esteem. Come along for the opportunity to gain tips and advice from a vision impaired motivational speaker who will encourage and give you the confidence you need to join activities in everyday life.
If you support a vision impaired person then this workshop is also for you; it will allow you to connect with other people in a similar situation where you can share and gain useful ideas, get information to help support you as well as receiving guiding training, which is both safe and practical for you and the person who you maybe guiding, whilst maintaining each other’s dignity.
This will be a great day where everyone can make new friends, gain advice, receive expert training and of course socialise.
Light refreshments will be provided including Mince Pies!
