Amar Latif ‘delighted’ to be an ambassador for Retina UK
In 2004 he launched Traveleyes with the determination to make the world more accessible for blind and visually impaired travellers. Since then he has travelled all over the globe.
Amar, who lives with retinitis pigmentosa, has appeared on our television screens on Travelling Blind, River Walks, and was a hugely popular contestant on Celebrity MasterChef 2020.
Amar presented Retina UK’s BBC Lifeline Appeal in July 2020.
He said: “I am living proof that while some things may be difficult with a visual impairment, with the right support they are not impossible.
“Through its incredible work, Retina UK provides that support, so that all those affected by inherited sight loss can fulfil their potential. This amazing charity also funds vital research, which is bringing us ever closer to treatments.
“I have seen first hand the difference Retina UK makes and I am delighted to be able to help raise the charity’s profile as a volunteer ambassador.”
