Local Peer Support Group

Scotland Regional Peer Support Group

  • Date and Time info: 2/07/2026 from 19:00:00 to 20:00:00
  • Location: Via Zoom.
  • Online

This regional Peer Support Group provides a welcoming, safe and friendly opportunity for people with inherited sight loss to meet up to share experiences, tips and information.

We are pleased to invite you to join Sarah Speed, our Glasgow Group facilitator for a Summer online region-wide Scotland Peer Support Group meeting.

We will also be joined by Retina UK Ambassador Colin Hetherington, who is assisting us with growing the awareness of our charity across Scotland through our peer support groups and external events to support those living with inherited retinal dystrophies. Colin will give us an update on his latest endeavours and fundraising all across Scotland.

Following on from a very successful Glasgow Sight Village in March and Edinburgh local group meeting in April hosted by facilitator Valerie Scott, where we were joined by Chloe Brotherton PhD student for a research update, we now welcome and encourage you to come and have your say in how we move forward with growing our current peer support groups in Glasgow & Edinburgh, as well as helping to identify where we can potentially create new peer support groups across Scotland.

This online get together will also give you the opportunity to share any important information that you are aware of that could benefit our Scottish community living with inherited sight loss such as companion concessions & travel or discounted admissions on attractions & venues across Scotland.

We hope you can make it and look forward to seeing you there!

Also, if you are interested in joining the Scotland WhatsApp group to stay in contact with others and keep up to date with this peer group’s activity then please register below for more details.
