Manchester local peer support group

  • Date and Time info: 5/08/2023 from 12:00:00 to 15:00:00
  • Location: The Waldorf Pub, 12 Gore Street, Manchester, M1 3AQ
  • Face-to-face

This Local Peer Support Group provides a welcoming, safe and friendly opportunity for people to meet up to share experiences, tips and information.

We are pleased to invite you to join group facilitator Rachael Foley for our next Manchester local peer support group in-person meet up where we are delighted to welcome guest speaker Kelly Barton, North-West Engagement Manager for the Thomas Pocklington Trust.

Come and join Rachael and the group when we return to the upstairs room at the Waldorf Pub in Manchester to hear from our guest speaker Kelly where you will have the chance to ask her any questions you may have, followed by a social catch up.

As part of her role, Kelly oversees the Sight Loss Councils in the Greater Manchester, Merseyside and Lancashire areas. Sight Loss Councils are made up of blind and partially sighted volunteers who work towards making positive change in their local areas.

Kelly is blind herself and has been since she was born, so has a good understanding of the issues that affect people with sight loss.

Away from work she is a keen runner, completing lots of half marathons and even a few marathons. She also loves tandem cycling and is currently a member of a blind baseball team in Liverpool. Most importantly, she is also a mum and loves spending time with her family!
