This Local Peer Support Group provides a welcoming, safe and friendly opportunity for people to meet up to share experiences, tips and information.

We are pleased to introduce our new volunteer group facilitator Katrina Tavoulari and invite you to join us for the launch meeting of our new Bristol, Bath & Wilts local peer support group where we are delighted to welcome guest speaker Marc Gulwell, Community Sight Loss Advisor Team Manager from Sight Support West of England and partnered with Wiltshire Sight.

We are constantly striving to grow our peer support group network and are pleased to announce that we are introducing this new group to cover all of the Bristol, Bath and Wiltshire areas.

We strongly feel that it is important to collaborate and liaise with local sight loss organisations when introducing local groups to a new area therefore we are pleased to be joined by Marc who will be speaking about the support services that Sight Support West of England and Wiltshire Sight can offer to our community across the these areas.

Sight Support formed in April 2018, with start-up funding from the Thomas Pocklington Trust. This was after a needs assessment showing that people living with sight loss in the region did not have access to appropriate local support services. Their purpose is to bridge the gap between health service provision and social care. Wiltshire Sight and Sight Support are separate, independent charities but they work together closely to increase their effectiveness and coverage across the region.

We hope you can join us for the launch of this new group and look forward to seeing you there!
